In a heartfelt message conveyed at the Nairobi peace talks, Edmund Yakani, the Executive Director of the Community empowerment for progress organization (CEPO), representing civil society delegates, urged political leaders to prioritize the interests of citizens over personal agendas for a successful political transition in South Sudan.

Expressing concern over the prolonged political instability since 2013, Edmund emphasized the urgent need for political will and commitment to steer the country towards peace. He highlighted the erosion of trust and confidence among political factions as a major obstacle hindering progress.
